HAPPY CLIENTS

Mike Pennicard

Hi Kendall. Just a short note thanking you and your staff for taking such good care of my dogs Abby and Ben. As you know, Ben had a crutiate operation that went bad when he escaped the cage and jumped a fence. He had two small fractures in the joint, and although the crutiate ligament was still intact, one of the pins holding the plate became loose. The vet recommended complete rest, only being allowed to walk to do his business. The only concession was swimming. So I searched for a suitable program for Ben, and to my dismay some of the costs were prohibitive, until a friend recommended K9 H2O. I am so glad she did. Your costs were very reasonable and with your second dog policy it enabled Abby to take part and, as you know, they are very close and pine when they are apart. Ben is doing so well now. I would not hesitate recommending your service to anyone whose pet needs aquatic exercise. So to you and your fantastic staff, thank you once again.

Shadow Wong

Shadow, our 7 year old Golden Retriever, owes her life to K9H2O ( a swimming pool for dogs: www.K9H2O.com ). Early in her life, she had surgery for OCD ( Osteochondritis dissecans ) in one of her front legs. Later, she developed a partial tear of her cruciate ligament in one of her rear legs. After doing much research of the surgical options, we decided not to do any surgery but instead let the leg heal on its own. We kept her off of all her legs for months so the injured leg could recover. However, she was quickly getting very depressed and was having problems walking again. It was heart breaking to see her like this.

We knew we needed a low impact form of exercise for her. Swimming was the natural choice during the summer but in the winter it was too cold to swim her outside. She could not fully recover without year round exercise. We looked for a place where we could swim her indoors and found K9H2O. There was nothing else we could find that offered a full standard sized indoor pool for dogs. After months of going to K9H2O, Shadow’s legs got stronger and she was no longer depressed. The change in her health both physical and mental was amazing.

We were living in Vancouver at the time and the drives to Abbotsford twice a week were long but were more than worth it. Shadow was always happy to go and would pull us to the pool as soon as we got her out of the car. We are closer to the pool now and swim her even more (3 times a week). She is still pulling all the way to the pool…

The pool is always kept warm and clean. The Kendall De Menech, the owner, and her staff are very knowledgeable and comfortable around dogs and take every care to make sure Shadow is safe and gets the most out of her swims.

We don’t know what we would have done if it were not for K9H2O. We recommend K9H2O for any dog that needs rehabilitation therapy or just exercise. You couldn’t find a better place that really cares about your dog.

Sincerely, Mileva Ponorac & Ken Wong

Kasper

Diagnosed with hypertrophic osteodystrophy at 3 months, for which the main treatment is several months of crate rest and restricted, onleash activity, Kasper needed an outlet for his pent-up energy and to prevent frustration and anxiety. His veterinarian agreed that swimming would provide safe non-impact exercise and his foster mom reports that it has a calming effect, ensuring he sleeps through the night, and it should help keep his muscles toned so he can begin normal puppy activities in another month or so.

Zoe

Hi Kendall I am emailing you to express our appreciation for all the hard work that you and Terry have done to improve Zoe's health. When she first arrived at your pool she had just been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Zoe was very stiff and overweight due to her inability to walk very far. Zoe has now been swimming since June 2010 and she has dropped 8 lb. and is back to her regular walks, she is like a new dog. Every Saturday morning is like a circus to who can get in the car first and what part of the drive is she going to start barking and tell me to hurry up or we will be late.

Fisher just wants
to have fun!

I'm Fisher. I'm 4 and I live life large. I have boundless energy and want to run and play but I can't because I had cruciate surgery in October and I still hurt. I am lacking muscle tone and have arthritis. While I was at LAPS waiting for my forever home, K9 H20 donated swimming therapy to me and I now have a new sport. I LOVE swimming. Second to lying in my new parents' laps for snuggles, swimming in the ultimate! I swim hard for the whole time and collect multiple toys. So far I can fit 5 in my mouth. Since going swimming I can now walk without limping and have even started to trot. My muscle tone is coming along and I'm a very happy and very tired dog now. Thank you Canine H20 for helping me with my therapy.

Frida

Greetings from the pool! My name is Frida and I was adopted in 2002 by a nice couple in Vancouver. I am part pit bull, part who knows what and I have an insatiable appetite when it comes to rubber balls and chasing them. My parents used to take me to the park almost every day but they started to notice me limping on my front right shoulder when I would return the ball. I have no problem playing hurt but they thought it would be wise to see the vet. X-rays showed that I had some premature arthritis in my shoulders. Unfortunately running and jumping are not the best thing for a sore shoulder. All of a sudden my most favorite thing in the world was cut way back to maybe once or twice a week. Life became dull. Then one day my mom was watching the news and saw a story on a lady who had opened a pool for dogs. We had a family meeting and decided it might be a good alternative to the park. It turns out I am an awesome swimmer, and my favorite type of ball floats so I can still chase it. The best part is that there is no pounding on my joints and I am totally exhausted when my session is done. Swimming is hard work! Nowadays I get out to the pool on the weekends which is great just to stay in shape. If I had it my way I would move in with Kendall
